Each rug comes with a standard 12-month manufacturer’s warranty, unless stated otherwise on the product page. On this page, you’ll find the general warranty terms as well as an overview of warranty conditions by material type.

Please note: For your convenience, all warranty information is provided in English.

What are my warranty conditions?

We want you to know exactly where you stand. That’s why you’ll find a clear overview of the warranty conditions below. Still have questions or need help with something specific? Don’t hesitate to reach out. Our customer service team is here for you and happy to assist you personally.

  • A ✔ means that you are eligible for warranty.
  • A ✘ Indicates that the situation usually falls outside the warranty. No worries! Even then, we’re happy to work with you to find a suitable solution.
  • Covered by Warranty

    • Extreme wear from normal use
      For example, bald spots or fiber breakage without signs of external damage.
    • Folds or creases still visible after four weeks
      When the rug does not naturally recover after normal use.

    Not Covered by Warranty

    • Waves or bubbles immediately after unrolling
      Many rugs need some time to lay flat.
    • Damage caused by misuse
      For example, aggressive cleaning agents, excessive water, or scrubbing with hard brushes.
    • Marks from rotating vacuum cleaner brushes
      Some materials, such as wool, high-pile, jute, and viscose, are sensitive to this.
    • Damage caused by pets
      Think of scratch marks, urine stains, or other behaviors that damage the rug.
    • Damage caused by user
      Such as burn marks, cuts, or stains from spilled liquids.
    • Normal wear and tear
      Light fuzzing, pressure marks from furniture, or discoloration from sunlight fall under this category.
    • Damage from moisture or mold
      Unless it is a manufacturing defect, damage caused by moisture (like leaks or insufficient ventilation) is not covered..
    • Damage to the floor
      Volero is not liable for damage to floors, such as discoloration or damage caused by contact with poured floors, decking, concrete, PVC, laminate, or wood — including when using underfloor heating.
    • Damage from removing the label
      Pulling off the label can loosen fibers or cause permanent damage.
    • Odors
      A slight smell from new materials or natural fibers is normal and usually disappears on its own within a few weeks.

Warranty Conditions by Material Type:

Each material has its own characteristics and specific care instructions. To make it easy for you, we have clearly summarized the warranty conditions per material type below. Some materials, such as wool or cotton, require extra care. Don’t worry—this has been taken into account. Additional conditions can be found in the product information for each rug.

  • Covered by warranty.

    • Excessive pilling causing holes
      If the rug pills to the extent that the backing becomes visible.
    • Felting
      Severe or irreversible felting within six months under normal use and care.
    • Loose fibers in large quantities
      When this structurally damages the rug.
    • Irreparable deformations under normal use
      Such as permanent waves or distortion without external cause.
    • Yarn breakage between strands
      If yarn loosens or breaks under normal use.

    Not Covered by Warranty

    • Small irregularities in size, symmetry, or loops
      Wool is a natural product, so slight variations can occur.
    • Curling edges due to low humidity
      This can often be fixed by lightly misting the rug and allowing it to acclimate properly.
    • Normal pilling during the first months
      Pilling is a known and temporary characteristic of new wool rugs.
    • Odor or odor absorption
      A slight wool smell or absorption of surrounding odors is normal for the material.
    • Twigs or straw in the rug
      These natural remnants can appear in handwoven wool rugs and are not defects.
  • Covered by Warranty

    • Breaking or loosening of fibers causing holes
      Provided an anti-slip underlay has been used.
    • Unexplained discoloration without exposure to sunlight or moisture
      When discoloration occurs without external influences.
    • Irreparable deformations under normal use
      For example, permanent waves or distortion without a clear cause.
    • Mold formation or strong odor immediately after opening
      When the rug shows signs of mold or a strong smell upon delivery.

    Not Covered by Warranty

    • Loose or protruding fibers during use
      Jute can lose fibers or have a slightly uneven surface during use.
    • Outdoor use
      Jute is not suitable for outdoor use.
    • Use in damp rooms
      Such as bathrooms or conservatories, where the material may wear or deform faster.
    • Small variations in size, shape, or weave pattern
      Minor irregularities are part of the character of handwoven natural products.
    • Coarse texture of the material
      Jute naturally feels firm and rough. This is not a defect.
    • Gradual discoloration due to sunlight or moisture
      Discoloration caused by exposure to light or moisture is not covered by warranty.
    • Damage, felting, or fiber loosening without an anti-slip underlay
      An anti-slip underlay is essential for the durability of jute rugs.
  • Covered by Warranty

    • Severe discoloration or color fading without exposure to sunlight or moisture
      When the rug discolors without any clear external cause.
    • Excessive fiber deterioration causing bald spots
      Under normal use and maintenance.
    • Severe fraying of the edges under normal use
      When the edges come loose or tear without signs of intensive or incorrect use.

    Not Covered by Warranty

    • Changes in sheen or color due to walking direction
      Viscose naturally has a slight sheen that varies depending on the angle of view.
    • Use of water or unsuitable cleaning agents
      Viscose is very sensitive to moisture and requires specialized care.
    • Damage from wearing shoes indoors
      Friction may break down fibers or damage the surface.
    • Use without an anti-slip underlay
      An anti-slip underlay is essential to prevent shifting and damage to the fibers.
  • Covered by Warranty

    • Fiber breakage resulting in holes
      When the backing of the rug becomes visible under normal use.
    • Color fading without exposure to sunlight or moisture
      In cases of sudden discoloration without any external cause.

    Not Covered by Warranty

    • Looping caused by friction
      Friction may pull up loops or cause deformations.
    • Size, shape, or minor weaving irregularities
      Slight variations are normal in handwoven cotton rugs.
    • Yarn breakage caused by shoes, hooks, or sharp furniture
      Mechanical damage is not covered by the warranty.
    • Wear due to intensive use
      Such as thinning areas on walkways or frequent movement of furniture.
    • Odor absorption
      Cotton can absorb smells from its surroundings.
    • Use without an anti-slip underlay
      An anti-slip underlay is essential to prevent shifting and fiber damage.
  • Covered by Warranty

    • Severe deformation or shrinkage after washing according to instructions
      When the rug becomes clearly misshapen despite being washed correctly.
    • Anti-slip backing coming off under normal use within one year
      The anti-slip layer should remain intact under regular use.
    • Noticeable color fading within six months
      Provided there has been no exposure to sunlight or aggressive cleaning agents.
    • Shape or size deviations
      When they exceed the normal production tolerance.

    Not Covered by Warranty

    • Wrinkling after washing
      This is normal and can be corrected with light ironing or steaming.
    • Pilling under normal use
      Light pilling is common with textile rugs.
  • Covered by Warranty

    • Bald spots due to fiber loss within one year
      When the surface wears out visibly despite normal use.
    • Distortion or extreme shrinkage without exposure to moisture or heat
      If the rug loses its shape without any clear external cause.
    • Severe fraying of the edges during normal use
      When the finishing comes loose or tears.
    • Irreversible deformations within six months
      Without the influence of footwear or other stressing factors.
    • Extreme felting within six months under normal use
      When the structure of the rug is permanently altered as a result.
    • Strong, persistent odor
      If a penetrating smell is still present after airing out for three months.

    Not covered by Warranty

    • Pressure marks from furniture
      Impressions from tables, chairs, or sofas are normal with prolonged use.
    • Maximum shrinkage of 3% upon delivery
      Slight deviations in size are within product tolerance.
    • Waves or bumps from packaging
      These often disappear on their own after unrolling.
    • Hard-to-clean long fibers
      For example, in high-pile rugs where dirt is harder to remove.
    • Pilling and static electricity
      Both are typical for synthetic materials and are harmless.
    • Deformations caused by rubber slippers within six months
      Rubber soles may cause friction that damages the rug’s structure.
  • Covered by Warranty

    • Rapid discoloration while the rug is kept in the shade
      When the rug fades noticeably within a short period despite not being directly exposed to sunlight.
    • Peeling or disintegration of the surface or backing within one year
      Under normal outdoor use and without aggressive cleaning.

    ✘ Not Covered by Warranty

    • Normal discoloration due to sunlight
      UV light can cause fading over time.
    • Not stored during autumn or winter months
      Prolonged exposure to cold and moisture may accelerate wear.
    • Wear caused by weather conditions or cleaning machines
      For example, using a pressure washer is not covered under warranty.
    • Curling edges due to temperature fluctuations
      Materials may respond to changes in heat and cold.
    • Mold formation from being stored in a damp place
      It is important to store the rug in a dry place during wet months.
  • Covered under warranty

    • Detachment of the anti-slip layer within twelve months
      When used normally on a suitable surface.
    • Incorrect size delivered
      If the delivered size differs from the one ordered.
    • Shrinkage after washing according to care instructions
      If the pad shrinks despite proper maintenance.

    Not covered under warranty

    • Discoloration of the floor
      Contact with wood, laminate, PVC, poured floors, or natural stone can cause discoloration.
    • Wear due to intensive use
      Prolonged pressure or friction can damage the material.
    • Damage or curling edges due to an undersized pad
      A proper fit is essential for effective function and protection.
